Statue out behind the chapel.

  • Plaque inside the door.
  • Inside of the chapel. I was an alter boy here (having learned latin---sort of---in Saturday training sessions with Father McCormack).
  • Statue out behind the chapel.
  • Former Parmly quarters, next to the chapel.
  • Another view of the Parmly quarters. Is this just the coolest house or what?
  • Looking across Lusk Reservoir toward Michie Stadium.
  • Michie Stadium; Lusk Reservoir in foreground.
  • Interior of Michie Stadium. I think it was only a year or two ago that I finally tossed the cadet hat that I grabbed here at one graduation when the cadets tossed them into the air. Two kids were pulling at each end of it; I wrapped my arms around the middle and eventually they gave up. I was pretty pleased. Mary, of course, got three.
  • Delafield Pond. The water level is low during the off season. Since we were there (50! years ago), they removed the dive platforms that were in the back left and added the slides. There was a raft in the middle of the pond. You had to be able to swim out the the raft (and back?) to have free run of the pond. As a 7-year-old, it seemed a formidable feat. Now, it seems a good running start should get one half way there.
  • One time, Mike stepped off the concrete platform in the center (usually right at the water level) and sank from sight. When he popped up, Dad grabbed him and pulled him out.

  • Custer's tomb in the cemetery. He died at age 37.
  • Slab of Custer's wife's grave, immediately adjacent to his. She lived some 55 years after his death.
  • There are quite a few unknown soldiers.
  • View across the Hudson from the Cemetery.
  • The Battle Monument at Trophy Point (across from the parade ground).
  • A section of the chain used to block the Hudson during the Revolutionary War.
  • Walkway down to the overlook at Trophy Point.
  • The view from Trophy Point
  • Adjacent view from Trophy Point.
